A Comparative Study of the Resolution of Political Conflicts in the Light of Abrahamic Religions

Abstract

The Abrahamic religions contain extensive material in their sacred texts for resolving conflicts. Whenever a conflict arises in any of these religions, its solution can be found in their holy books. Even when disputes occur with followers of other Abrahamic faiths, the solution is provided in each sacred text. The holy scriptures advocate for both forgiveness and retribution as means of conflict resolution. While retribution (Qisas) is a severe measure, it is also recognized as a necessary act for the preservation of humanity. Despite its severity, Qisas is understood to be crucial for maintaining justice and peace.
