The Preaching of Sahaba and it's Application to Contemporary Era

Abstract

Almighty Allah had bestowed upon his Prophet (PBUH) the best companions who spread all over the world by sacrificing their comfort, home and wealth for the propagation of true faith and religion. The Companions, (may Allah be pleased with them), have been chosen by Allah Almighty for the companionship of His Prophet and been set an example for whole Ummah, because of them getting benefit directly from the light of Prophethood. The work of writing the biography of the Companions in the style of da'wah is of great importance, and effective for practical application also. Obtaining guidance from their biographies can save the Ummah from going astray, and it has been emphasized to follow them. Now these events need to be repeated again and again for the nourishment of the heart and mind, the movement of emotions, the passion for life and wealth, and the virtues of migration and Nuṣrah, so that one may realize his lack of faith and be guided to make true deeds.

In this article, we shall try to understand the preaching of true faith, the method and character of the Companions and the Salaf-i-Ṣalihīn in the scenario of the present age. This article will discuss the components and importance of preaching, the attributes of the preacher in the light of the Qurān, Sunnah and biographies of the Companions. Then its practical application to the present age will be compared and conclusion will be drawn.
