This research investigates the emergence of hypocrisy within the Muslim community following the migration to Medina (Hijrah). The study focuses on the period after the Battle of Badr, when newfound Muslim success attracted individuals motivated by worldly aspirations rather than genuine faith. Examining historical sources, the paper estimates the number of hypocrites to be in the hundreds, divided into distinct groups based on tribal and gender affiliations. Through analysis of the Qur'an, the research outlines both divinely ordained consequences for hypocrites in the afterlife and societal guidelines for their treatment during their earthly life. Additionally, the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) approach to this challenge is explored, highlighting his emphasis on compassion, forgiveness, and opportunities for repentance. By analyzing these various perspectives, the paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of this complex phenomenon and its implications for early Islamic society.
